Chance Hymas grew up at the AZ Open. The official archive records seven consecutive appearances from 2015 through 2021, following his climb from 85cc and Mini racing through Schoolboy, B and Pro Sport.

Across those seven years, Hymas collected ten AZ Open motocross class championships. He went from two 85cc runner-up finishes in 2015 to three titles in both 2017 and 2019, then capped his amateur career with a perfect 1–1–1 250 Pro Sport championship in 2021.

Landen Gordon’s AZ Open story spans three generations of race bikes. He first arrived in the archive in 2017 and won both 65cc (7–9) championships, then returned in 2021 to claim the Supermini 1 title with victories in the final two motos.

His defining weekend came in 2022. Gordon swept all three Supermini 1 motos, won both scored motos in Supermini 2 and added the Schoolboy 1 championship with 2–1–1 finishes—three class titles in one AZ Open and six championships across his recorded appearances.

Jett Lawrence’s 2018 AZ Open appearance produced six straight podium motos. He swept Open Pro Sport 1–1–1 for the championship and went 2–3–3 for third overall in 250 Pro Sport—an early display of the consistency and speed that would define his professional career.

He went on to collect professional victories and multiple championships, confirming what Arizona race fans saw coming years earlier.

Jo Shimoda raced the AZ Open four consecutive years from 2015 through 2018. He arrived as a Supermini champion, swept 250 B in 2016, won Schoolboy 2 in back-to-back years and swept Open B in 2017 before graduating to two Pro Sport runner-up finishes in 2018.

Across 11 recorded class entries, Shimoda earned five championships and nine overall podiums—an unusually complete record of his rise from Supermini to the professional doorstep.

Max Vohland built one of the deepest résumés in the archive: five straight appearances from 2015 through 2019, nine class championships and 11 overall podiums. His first title came with a perfect 85cc Limited sweep; his final weekend ended with Schoolboy 1 and 125 B/C championships.

Between them came dominant runs through 85cc, Mini and Supermini—including perfect sweeps in Mini, Supermini 2 and 125 B/C.

Stilez Robertson owned the 2019 AZ Open. He entered both premier amateur classes and never lost a moto, sweeping 250 Pro Sport and Open Pro Sport 1–1–1 for six victories and two championships.

That flawless weekend showcased the versatility, raw speed and composure that carried him into professional Supercross and Pro Motocross.
